Terms of Use
Last updated: April 2026
These terms govern your use of Compass AI (the "Service"), operated by Founderland gUG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("Founderland", "we", "us") and accessible at compass.founderland.org. By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What Compass AI is
Compass AI is a structured feedback tool for early-stage founders. You answer a set of strategic questions about your business model, customers and growth plan, and the Service returns written feedback generated with the help of large language models. The first three questions are free; the full ten-question analysis is available as a one-time paid assessment.
2. Not investment or legal advice
The feedback, gaps and risk flags provided by Compass AI are for informational purposes only. They are not investment advice, legal advice, accounting advice, or a substitute for professional judgement. Decisions about fundraising, corporate structure, pricing, hiring or strategy remain entirely yours. Founderland does not guarantee any particular outcome from using the Service, including but not limited to successful fundraising.
3. Accuracy and AI limitations
Compass AI uses AI models that can make mistakes, miss context, or produce inaccurate statements. You are responsible for verifying any output before acting on it. Feedback is generated based on the information you provide; incomplete or inaccurate input will produce less useful feedback.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the information you submit to the Service (your "Inputs"). By submitting Inputs, you grant Founderland a limited licence to process them for the purpose of providing the Service, improving it, and for internal research. We will not publish your Inputs or identify you publicly without your consent. Please do not submit confidential information you are not comfortable sharing with us.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
- submit content that is defamatory, infringes on third-party rights, or contains personal data about other people without their permission;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or otherwise interfere with the Service or its underlying models;
- resell or redistribute feedback generated by the Service as if it were your own product.
6. Payments
The full assessment is a one-time purchase at the price shown at checkout. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider and are subject to that provider's terms. Because feedback is delivered digitally and immediately, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us if something goes wrong.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, copy, code and question set, is owned by Founderland and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for your own business but not copy, modify or redistribute its content without written permission.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Founderland is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) €50.
9. Privacy
We process personal data in line with our privacy policy. For information about cookies used on this site, see our cookie notice.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts of Berlin, Germany have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms, except where mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
